Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you wanted to know about The Local Network, but were afraid to ask.
General
📬Can I suggest a pub or city?
+
Absolutely. Use the Contact page and choose "City / Map Request" or "General Enquiry". We read every message between pints
💡Is The Local Network free to use?
+
Yes, browsing maps, planning routes, and exploring pubs is completely free. You only need to create an account to save your crawl sessions and check in at pubs.
Pub Crawling
🔄What does "interchange" mean on the map?
+
A hollow circle on the map is an interchange, a pub that sits on two or more lines. Just like a real interchange station, you can change route here. At an interchange, the rules say you must buy a round before changing lines.
📍How do I check in at a pub?
+
Start a crawl session from the My Journeys page, then tap a station on the map and use the Check In button. You can add a note about your visit and rate the pub.
🚪What does "Tap Out" mean?
+
Leaving the crawl early. It is permitted, but the rule is that you announce it and buy a goodbye round. No one gets left without a send-off.
❓Do I have to always do a crawl? Can I just go to the local?
+
Absolutely. The Local Network isn't the Pub Crawl Police, and there's no minimum pub requirement. Whether you're discovering somewhere new or heading straight to your favourite local for a pint, we're here to help you find great pubs, not count them, well unless you check-in that is!
🕐Are the pub opening hours accurate?
+
We aim to keep them current but opening hours change. Always check the pub's website or call ahead before travelling, especially for holiday periods.
