Cookies and storage on your device

We do not sell your data, and there is no advertising or tracking. Besides a few cookies, the site keeps some small things in your browser's own storage on this device. The same rules apply to both, so we ask about both.

Essential: always on

Keeps you signed in, remembers this choice, and holds the key and any waiting check-ins that make check-ins work. The site cannot work without these.

Preferences: your choice

Kept in your browser on this device, not in cookies and not sent to us: your walking stride length, which field-guide entries you have read, announcements you have closed, and for site staff the console menu layout. If you are signed in, your stride is also kept on your account, which this choice does not change. There is nothing else to switch on or off.

Choosing Essential only removes the preferences and the site still works fully. Read exactly what we store and our privacy policy.
